Legend of Korra Mako cosplay jacket

Here's the completed coat for my Steampunk/Dieselpunk Mako cosplay. It's basically going to be how I'd imagine Mako would look if a grittier, good, big budget live action adaptation of the series were made. In this picture I'm wearing it the way I'll wear it for the cosplay, with the sleeves rolled up and a belt around my waist (although I'll be using a different, more militaristic/utilitarian-looking belt for the cosplay). I really love how this one turns out. It fits me very comfortably and I really like my fabric choices (brushed cotton for the shell, leather and denim for the accents, and a striped lining).

I wanted to add details to this that seemed like they could actually be useful. I gave it a gun pad on the right shoulder, based on those found on some trench coats and turn-of-the-century sport coats, and I added some military-style pockets. The overall design of the front, especially the pocket style and placement, was based on Leonardo DiCaprio's jacket in The Aviator. I also added elbow pads to match the gun pad, a storm flap on the back (inspired by some Volante Design concept art), and some extra straps.
